With the Half Fare Travelcard and the Half Fare Travelcard for Youth, you can travel for half price on most SBB routes and those of most other railways, as well as on boats and Postbuses. It doesn’t matter if you buy tickets for 2nd or 1st class. Customers can also benefit from discounts on urban transport services.

For short journeys, discounted tickets or combined offers with additional services, the discount may be less than 50%.

Adults aged 25 or older can get their first Half Fare Travelcard for CHF 190. For young people aged at least 16 and under 25, the cost is CHF 120 per year.

And the best thing is that the Half Fare Travelcard costs exactly the same for 1st and 2nd class – the class does not affect the price.

The low price means that your Half Fare Travelcard will pay for itself in just a few journeys. For example, you’ll already benefit after just four Bern–Zurich return journeys in 2nd class or two Zurich–Bern return journeys in 1st class.

Take advantage of a loyalty discount from your second Half Fare Travelcard year. Adults aged 25 or over then pay just CHF 170 per year, while young people aged at least 16 and under 25 pay just CHF 100 per year. Did you know? If you switch from a GA Travelcard to a Half Fare Travelcard without a break in validity, you also pay the reduced price.

The Half Fare Travelcard itself is valid for one year. But when you purchase a Half Fare Travelcard, you take out an indefinite contract. This is why your Half Fare Travelcard renews automatically after a year and remains available on your SwissPass.
